The property is set in the cliff side at Imerovigli, a quiet and romantic village on the northwest coast, with traditional white houses carved in to the rock face. Its sits 300metre above the caldera, a deep basin formed by the volcano sinking in to the sea during 1500 BC. Opposite the hotel is Skaros Rock, renowned for it's Venetian castle ruins, an islet that before the volcano shook it free in the 17th century was the capital of Santorini. From it's vantage point on the hillside, it boasts fabulous views of the sea, surrounding islands and stunning sunset. Fira town is 2km away, the airport, 8km and the port 10km. Santorini is a 30 minute flight from Athens or a 3 hour ferry journey.The deluxe suites have a private plunge pool. Rooms are luxuriously appointed in soft cool tones. They feature king sized beds, Korres bathroom amenities together with bathrobes and slippers, air conditioning, telephone, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, wi-fi internet access, ipod speakers, satellite television and DVD player. The balcony has amazing views of the sea and surrounding islands.The main restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the sea. A selection of both Greek and international dishes are available. Breakfast includes champagne. The pool bar serves and drinks and snacks throughout the day.Set in the caldera, the hotel is a traditional style white property spread over several levels.The lobby is fairly small with a comfortable seating area.
