Pula is situated in the south-western part of the peninsula in a well-protected bay. As well as the rest of the region, the city is known for its mild climate, clean sea and well-preserved nature. The city has a long tradition of winemaking, fishing, shipbuilding and tourism. It is also an important international port. Pula is a popular international summer resort. One of the local highlights is certainly Brijuni National Park, which is located in the vicinity of Pula.
